A FAIR DEAL FOR THE MOTORIST

The Association of British Drivers is campaigning for a fair deal for the motorist. Over 30 million motorists have been taken for granted for too long. We need your support to put it right.

Here are some ways that you can help us?

ORDINARY MOTORIST

· Tell your friends about our campaign

· Keep our campaign posted on any developments in your area - particularly where local people stand up for themselves.

KEEN MOTORIST

· Write to the national press in support of our campaign. (Quick links).

· Write to the local press – particularly if there’s a hot local issue

· You can often comment online, including on blogs and social networking sites

· Join ABD.

PASSIONATE MOTORIST

Contact your elected representatives and ask them for action:

· Westminster Parliament – on national issues, such as tax

· Local council – on local streets and charges (e.g.)

· Devolved administrations in:

Scotland

Wales

Northern Ireland

NB: Individual websites / offices can explain what each is responsible for.

NB: ABD is totally non-party political. However, as many people believe that the next General Election will produce a Conservative government, it seems a good idea to request action from either:

Theresa Villiers MP – Shadow Transport Secretary, or

Robert Goodwill MP – Shadow Minister for Roads,

House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.

EXPERIENCED CAMPAIGNER

· Run a website? Give our campaign a mention and provide a link

· Get your campaign or interest group to promote us

· Write a piece for a community or trade journal (e.g.).

· Hold an event (e.g. a debate) featuring our campaign topics.
